Uptown Charlotte hosts some of most beautiful luxury weddings I have ever had the pleasure to photograph. Finding YOUR perfect uptown Charlotte wedding venue, however is a very personal and important task. I am often asked which venues I recommend, and after photographing many weddings, engagements and bridal sessions uptown I have plenty of knowledge to pass along on the subject, so I hope that you will find this useful!
When you begin planning your wedding in Uptown Charlotte one of the first decisions you'll have to make is whether you'd like an indoor or an outdoor wedding. Don't underestimate the importance of this decision! Depending on your venue you may not have an easily accessible backup plan in the event of rain. How would you feel about the rain? If you are laid back and will be able to laugh through the drizzle, a location such as Independence Park would be perfect for you!
This beautiful Uptown Charlotte wedding was not dampened in the least by the rain that fell on an April afternoon. Independence Park provided the beautiful backdrop for this intimate family affair, with friends and family taking shelter under a simple park gazebo during the afternoon reception. Only a 5 minute drive from the Uptown Westin Hotel Charlotte where Christin and Myron made their final preparations before their first look and ceremony. This wedding was also featured on Offbeat Bride!
If you prefer to have your ceremony indoors so that the weather isn't a concern, Uptown Charlotte has so many hotel and restaurant options, and even plenty of beautiful scenic parks within walking distance to give you the best of both worlds. You could host your wedding ceremony in an elegant Uptown ballroom and have your portraits somewhere colorful and romantic like The Green, or a more modern urban location such as Romare Bearden Park.
INTIMATE UPTOWN CHARLOTTE WEDDING
If you LOVE the draw of Uptown and being so close to all of the action for your guests, but you really are looking for something more intimate, take a page from Meghan & Justin's fairytale. They knew that they wanted their wedding to have an upscale highly curated look...but they didn't want to be inside a ballroom or museum. They chose the small historic St. Mary's Chapel for a brunch ceremony after getting ready at The Ritz Carlton. Their reception was at a fine Charlotte restaurant Napa on Providence and was full of personal touches that made their guests feel at home!
