Senior Portrait Rep {Charlotte Senior Photographer}

Jun 24, 2013

I would like to introduce you to my FABULOUS 2014 Rock Hill High School Senior Rep.  Meet Brittany:

Saying that I enjoyed working with Brittany would be an understatement.  She is the type of teenager that I hope my daughter grows up to be.  She is respectful, intelligent, and so very kind.  But most of all, Brittany is a real person.  We shared probably more than 60 emails back and forth planning this session.  Every outfit we decided on together, every detail was precise.  I love working with this type of client!  It is so refreshing to work with someone that trusts your judgment and knows that you will produce the results they are after.  Being a senior photographer is a hands-on job.  But it is a job that I love every second of.  From that first email, until the moment I am able to reveal the portraits in-person to the whole family.

We met in Belmont and Brittany had her makeup done on location by the fabulous Ash Christian.   We moved right into our session, with the antique train and a quaint little ice cream shoppe with an antique store in the back!  We found a nice field and some great walls (with an iron gate?!?–yes, please!).  Brittany loves to sing and play her Fender guitar, so naturally, she brought it along.  I know that sometimes guitars are just “props” but rest assured, this was no simple prop.  The guitar was beautiful and Brittany instantly lit up the moment she laid hands on it.  Also, I have to give a quick shout out to Brittany’s poor Dad for lugging that guitar case around after us all evening…we gave him a workout, but he was such a good sport!

As the evening progressed the light was just beautiful, and we were able to get some portraits with a headpiece I purchased specifically for Brittany.  I had this vision in my head and with Brittany’s help we pulled it off flawlessly.  These are the images I had inside of my head for Brittany’s senior portrait session:

For our last little bit of evening light I knew I wanted to incorporate Lake Wylie into Brittany’s senior portraits.  She has many images of her and her friends boating on her Facebook page and so I knew if I could get her to the water it would wrap up the session perfectly.  Luckily there was a little spot not too far away that I drive by frequently.  There is a funny story behind this though, as when we arrived there were no less than 20 people, some without shirts observing our session and even offering to take the photographs for us!  I politely declined those offers…but I’m sure that Brittany’s Dad thought I was crazy for bringing us to this place.  I ensure him that the finished product would be well worth it, and I think it was:

That last image was literally the last “click” and I KNEW we had all that we needed.  I am so thrilled with the images we captured and how well we worked together…and the best part is that I get to work with Brittany for the next year!  As my Senior Rep Brittany gets to work with me again on special projects…and hopefully she will earn a FREE end of the year session too so that I can capture her a year from now when she is graduating high school!
