How I View Holiday Traditions | Charlotte Lifestyle Photographer

Dec 2, 2013

I hope that everyone enjoyed a wonderful (and filling!) Thanksgiving holiday with your families!  I know that we had a great time here…and now it is on to one of my very favorite times of the year…CHRISTMASTIME!!!!
I’ve always loved Christmas, but since I’ve become a Mom and had the opportunity to see the joy of Christmas through the eyes of a child it has really renewed my love of this holiday.  This month for our blog circle we decided to focus on how we view and celebrate some of our different family holiday traditions, and while their are many, including hanging the stockings, placing the seemingly endless supply of singing snowmen out about the house, or checking off the gifts from our lists; my favorite tradition is going to pick out our christmas tree and bringing it home as a family to decorate with our ornaments.

We are lucky in that we have a very nice local tree farm only about 2 miles from our home, and so we go there to get our tree each year.  It was nice when it was just the two of us, but since the kids have come along and are now getting older and starting to understand this whole “holiday spirit” business, the experience is really a joy (and I get to torture them with my camera!!!).

Here are just a few of the images from this year’s tree picking trip:

Hopefully they won’t hold it against me as they get older…because I know that I won’t be able to restrain myself from taking just a few pictures at least!

Please follow along the rest of the circle to see how each of my friends celebrates different family traditions by hopping over to Stefanie’s website to read about her family fun!

I love that second photo too! How lucky that you have a place so close to you and what a nice tradition to pass to your children!

It’s so awesome that you have such a cool place to go close by! That is really a great tradition to have with your little ones. Even with the torture I bet it creates great memories 🙂

adorable!! we just get our tree from a local xmas tree place even though i love the idea of going to a farm. i’ve decided that’s too much effort that i’m not willing to put in with 2 kids, who will definitely start complaining about being cold 🙂
